As long as there has been HTML in my life, there has been the story of Shadow Victims. A short story I’ve always wanted to put down from pen to paper (well from fingers to keys to text?) since I first thought of it. What came first was the name; “Shadow Victims”, I always liked the idea of using it as a title for something, I wanted to come up with a story which did the title justice. Which over the many years I’ve done web design and tinkered around with the Shadow Victims idea, I believe I’ve finally come up with.
From a story and concept about a militaristic town which the protagonist hunts people down and kills them because of an experiment, all the way to the final story rendition of a human mind manipulation based story which questions the aspects of imagination and observation as well as reality. Most likely some elements of the original idea still remains, however to find out you must read the story.
Why?
For the most part let’s put it bluntly I do no good English. The idea of Shadow Victims needed to come to life for the simple fact that the completion would be a major undertaking and achievement. The major changes to the story occurred around the time the major changes with my websites occurred. Trinest.com became more organized with editorials which grew in length and quality. This allowed me to grow my language skills, while not perfect allow me to convey the story which I wanted to tell much better.
The decision to post the story online for free on a website is carefully crafted. With easy navigation and access of the story the key aspects of the website, instead of locking down the creation behind a pay wall or complicated publishing scheme. The ability to do anything you want exists on the internet, and displaying a short story online for free is one of those many things anyone can do.
